Dr. Reese Odenwelder
DVM
Certifications: Fear Free Certified, American Association of Feline Practitioners
Dr. Reese is a Florida native who grew up dreaming of one day becoming a “Dogtor”. Combining her passion for science and medicine with her love of animals, she attended the University of Florida to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 2013, Reese moved to Colorado to join fellow outdoor enthusiasts and pet lovers.
She quickly fell in love with the mountain town lifestyle and met her husband, Chris. Together they adopted Doug, a dog with a fun mix of goof and adventure. Reese’s family has continued to grow, with 3 Steamboat kiddos and 3 crazy cats keeping her life exciting!
Dr. Ramona Forelle
DVM
Certifications: Fear Free Certified
Dr. Ramona moved to Steamboat Springs in 2017. She grew up in Southern California, graduated from UCLA with a degree in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, and earned her Veterinary degree from University California Davis.
Dr. Ramona is having fun raising her daughter and an uncooperative cat here in Steamboat. She has always enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, and swimming at the hot springs pool (not in the river, folks! Brr!).
Dr. Emily Nunan-Fletche
DVM, PhD
Certifications: Fear Free Certified
Dr Emily is a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University, she has been a veterinarian for one year with most of her experience in emergency medicine. She prides herself on providing up-to-date medicine for her patients and ensuring they have the best quality of life.
Emily loves to be outdoors, whether she is mountain/gravel biking, skiing, or hiking with her husband and two dogs Casper and Nugget.

Certifications: Fear Free Certified, Veterinary Receptionist Certificate of Excellence
Bethany graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2019 with a bachelors in Zoology and Pre-Vet. After graduating, she interned for six months at a wildlife refuge for large cats and carnivores in Arkansas. Once the internship was done, she moved back home and became a zookeeper for the Tulsa Zoo education department for a few years. In 2023 she joined the veterinary field as a vet assistant for a year and has been a receptionist (CSR) for over a year now.
Bethany likes to do puzzles and Legos, bird watch, and spend time with her two cats, Habanero and Odin. She takes pride in being friendly, detail-oriented, and someone pets and their owners can feel comfortable with. She always helps patients feel safe and cared for as soon as they arrive, and strives for them to feel supported throughout their experience with us.
Jackie Connor
RVT
Certifications: Fear Free Certified
Jackie was born and raised in central Florida, where she spent most of her free time caring for her pets and riding and showing horses in the hunter circuit. Jackie was still in high school when she signed on for her first job at a veterinary clinic. She advanced her career as a technician, then enrolled in St. Petersburg College in 2015 to study veterinary technology. She completed her degree while working full-time and graduated in 2017. After helping pets at two other veterinary hospitals in Florida for a total of 12 years, Jackie decided to make a change and moved to Steamboat Springs in the fall of 2020. She has been a Registered Veterinary Technician with Ski Town Animal Hospital ever since.
Jackie is particularly fond of anesthesia and surgical cases, and her favorite part of the job is providing care and comfort during your pet’s stay with us. In her free time, Jackie likes hiking, exploring the outdoors and snowboarding. At home, she has three cats and a Catahoula/Bulldog mix named Blue.
Violet Alvarez
RVT
Violet was born in New Jersey and spent her early years there before moving to Peru, where she later began studying Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics. In 2022, she moved to Steamboat Springs to attend Colorado Mountain College and earned her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in May 2025. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, enjoys helping others, and loves going to the gym, walking around downtown, spending time with her boyfriend, and dancing—a passion she’s practiced for five years.
Erin Ciacio
Practice Manager, Veterinary technician
Certifications: Fear Free Certified
Erin is a graduate of Colorado State University, where she got her undergraduate degree in Zoology and her Professional Science Master’s degree in Zoo, Aquarium, and Animal Shelter Management. She has previously worked in wildlife rehabilitation on the Front Range, then found her love of veterinary care when she moved to Steamboat in 2019. She takes pride in facilitating teamwork and excellent business management. And of course loves working with the pets of Steamboat!
Erin is a Golden Colorado native, and grew up biking, skiing, and camping with her family, which she has continued into her adult life. She is grateful for her amazing community in Steamboat and her sister cats, Chia and Zuzu.
Kali Cole
Veterinary Assistant
Certifications: Fear Free Certified
Kali graduated from NC State University with a bachelors degree in Animal Science in 2020. During her time there she worked extensively with both horses and dogs, where she found her love of animal behavior and husbandry expanding. After graduating, she worked with an animal behaviorist in Florida before moving to Texas. There, she had the opportunity work with both equine and canine trainers who specialized in rehabilitating animals with behavioral concerns through positive reinforcement and natural horsemanship.
Since moving to Steamboat in 2024 with her partner, her two dogs, and a cat, Kali has enjoyed experiencing the beautiful mountains of Colorado. They love to spend their weekends hiking, climbing, and being out in nature. She is so excited to be a part of this community, where she has the opportunity to help people care for their fur babies using the Fear Free and wholistic techniques she has learned over the years.
Jake Rattet
Veterinary Assistant
Jake joined our team this summer after moving from him home state of Washington. He has worked in animal hospitals on and off since high school, and has had a love for caring for animals his entire life. In his free time Jake enjoys spending time with his wife, playing guitar, exercise, and spending time outside with his dog Hank.
